ARTconnects is a workshop based award-winning initiative created in 2017 by Salma Zulfiqar BEM, British Artist and Human Rights Campaigner. ARTconnects also delivers educational and diversity workshops for youth in schools, universities and for corporate clients. The workshops equip participants with knowledge on climate solidarity, gender equality and help improve mental wellbeing.
Workshops and exhibitions have been held across the UK, Europe, USA and the Middle East.
Campaign events have also been held in Westminster and at the EU Parliament.
In 2023, Salma Zulfiqar was appointed the British Empire Medal for services to the Arts and Education in King Charles III Birthday Honours. In the same year she received the British Citizen Award and in 2022 Salma Zulfiqar was presented with the U.K. Prime Minister’s prestigious Points of Lights Award in recognition of her exceptional service Salma Zulfiqar was also voted one of the most influential women from the UK and received the national Rising Star Diversity Award powered by The Sunday Times in 2019.
ARTconnects is creating climate changemakers in communities through creative educational learning for social cohesion, human rights, peace and tolerance, empowering all communities, including refugees and the marginalised, through creative expression.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, online workshops have attracted participants from the UK, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Europe and USA.
Through high impact workshops led by highly experienced International Artist and Activist Salma Zulfiqar, participants learn creative skills, improve knowledge on climate change and human rights and experience better mental health while combating isolation.
ARTconnects believes in charging a fair price to non-profit clients and reinvesting back into supporting the social mission.
